Girne Municipality's tenders’ commission will meet this week to decide who will get the contract for widening the main road between the newly constructed stadium roundabout and the Ezic restaurant. New trenches dug alongside the road near the main Lefkosa road roundabout are said to be for street lighting. Ali Teknikel, of the municipality, said: "At the moment parts of the road are in darkness, which is leading to traffic accidents and is dangerous for pedestrians, so we are working to provide lighting up to near the Astro supermarket."
