Gonyeli sets up a website for its people

Gonyeli Municipality has taken its activities into cyberspace, setting up its own website for use by local people.

The www.gonyeli.com site will provide information on bus timetables, days of rubbish collection, insecticide spraying and contact telephone numbers for emergencies. Residents will also be able to download official forms and obtain local news.

Gonyeli Mayor Ahmet Benli said: "The website will enable our personnel to be more productive and our residents to be able to see a more efficient, quicker service from us.

"We are also in the process of preparing online payments so bills can be settled with debit or credit cards or through banks.

"Apart from benefits for local people, this will also ensure the municipality receives money it is owed in a timely fashion."
