Queue for homes

The Land Registry office in Lefkosa was inundated this week with people wishing to apply for one of the new social housing units to be provided by Lefkosa Turkish Municipality. Applications opened on Monday and continue until the end of November.

About 1,000 new homes are to be allocated to families currently living in the “old city” of Lefkosa so that more restaurants and bars can be created within the historic city centre for tourists.
